  • To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.
  • Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
  • To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
  • Service Supervisors will be responsible for the delivery of the contract services operation and their immediate shift and support forthcoming service from others.

Main duties
  • Leading and maintaining high standards and ensuing the service delivery to the M&S customer.
  • Attend client meetings when necessary.
  • Promotion of all Mitie service lines to deliver sustainable excellence and maximum efficiency.
  • Hold regular meetings to engage, motivate, and manage your team, developing and communicating the strategy.
  • Ensure all team members go through the Mitie Induction.
  • Support the Operations Managers with HR processes in accordance with Mitie policy and procedures.
  • Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings.

  • Ensuring all the necessary training has been conducted and recorded correctly, including Security SIA licence, Site
SOPS and ATCR documents.

as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
  • Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment
Instructions (AI's).
  • Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any
changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.
  • To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either
Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. The
Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.
  • Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
  • Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training and E- learning participation.
  • To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Line Management.

professional development (MiReviews).Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to
reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

Leadership
  • The Security supervisor will be responsible for the management of a team of officers on site.
  • They will aim to deliver a customer service-based security provision with professional presentation and positive
attitude promoting team working skills. Going “the extra mile” and working to engender a culture based on
integrity is vital.
  • They will be one of a team of supervisors who will communicate and hand over to each other across the shift
pattern. They will deliver a positive customer service delivery whilst be responsible for and supporting an
engaged team.
  • It is the expectation the Supervisors work together well as a team. Essentially between them, they will run the
day-to-day security operation and have a hand in strategic and long-term planning of the security function on
site, ensuring they and their team of officers are providing Reception, Control Room, Searching and patrolling
duties to the client (supporting their Site Manager/ Line/ Operations Manager)
  • They operate with the (Site/ Line/ Operations) Managers faith and trust to deliver the best performance,
operations and best decisions they can with the information and tools at hand, to deliver excellent service. That
they champion the service delivery required on the contract and use and support Mitie policies and procedures
to support.
  • The supervisors would act as point of contact to support client relations in the site managers absence during
their normal working hours.
  • The supervisor will work alongside the team, managing their deployments and paid breaks.
  • Supervisors need to cultivate a working knowledge of the security operation. They will be expected to have
working knowledge of the officers' roles/duties/tasks and be able to conduct searches, patrols and other such
tasks to bolster their site operational knowledge and also to perform alongside their team as required. They will
ensure first day induction, 13-week training and the Training Matrix are gotten up to date and that officers have
signed off Risk Assessments and AIs appropriately.
  • They will ensure that training is delivered and to a high standard. Also ensuring all paperwork is updated and that
Site Operating Procedures are adhered to.
  • They will be the experts on a number of on-site systems (once trained themselves). For example, CCTV, Access
control. Supervisors will look to perform auditing and compliance checks on those systems as required.
  • They will develop a working knowledge of Workplace Plus and work to ensure their teams are rostered. If a
blowout is recorded for the oncoming shift, they would support with calling to secure cover for that oncoming
shift, working as part of a team. If unsuccessful, escalating to the Site Manager/ control to secure subcontract
manpower in a timely manner.
  • Supervisors will be expected to manage their team supportively, building strong positive relationships with their
core team and the dedicated and Area Relief.
  • Supervisors will conduct Return to Works as part of the sickness and absence policies and any required
Investigatory processes and support welfare manage their officers.
  • Praise the officers when they do good work and support the Mitie stars recognition program.
Person Specification
  • Literate and numerate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages - Outlook, Word, Excel
