Special Conditions A variable shift pattern, working 5 days out of 7, Manual handlingSharePorterThis role is eligible for theAbout the roleWe are seeking a reliable and proactive Porter to support the day-to-day operations across university facilities. While portering duties may be required both on campus and in university-owned buildings throughout the city, this role is earmarked to be predominantly based in our city-centre locations, supporting high-traffic student accommodation and academic spaces.Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with the movement of furniture, equipment, and deliveries.
  • Support room setups for events, meetings, and teaching activities.
  • Removal of waste and recycling from accommodation kitchens
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in communal areas in coordination with cleaning teams.
  • Respond to reactive requests from building users and facilities teams.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of materials and supplies.
  • Provide a visible and helpful presence to students, staff, and visitors.

Further informationThis role is 36.5 hours a week working shifts between 9am-5:20pm on a 5 over 7 rota.
