- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing occupational therapy input within a neurobehavioral model to service users with acquired brain injury (ABI).
- Lead the OT provision within the service, liaising with internal and external professionals, family members, and service users.
- Operate within a specialist clinical area as an autonomous professional, developing skills and knowledge in neurological rehabilitation, potentially acting as the sole clinician with remote supervision if needed.
- Take professional accountability and responsibility while managing and prioritising a caseload of service users with complex mental and physical health needs or challenging behaviour.
- Complete the OT process, utilising evidence-based and service user-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions, particularly in complex cases.
- Address occupational performance and skill deficits, enabling service users in self-maintenance, productivity, education, and leisure activities.
- Develop and oversee care programmes, ensuring effective handover to rehabilitation support workers or therapy assistants, monitoring and modifying treatment according to the neurobehavioral model.
- Engage sensitively and flexibly with service users, family/carers, and agencies, considering the most appropriate environments for assessment and intervention.
