We have a global team with a singular mission, to make our client's projects happen.Claxton are looking to hire a Supply Chain Assistant on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the Supply Chain Assistant is to support the Procurement and Stores functions within the Supply Chain Department. The position comes with the potential to undertake a development programme leading to a role as a Buyer.Duties/Responsibilities
  • Processing requests for goods and services for the business
  • Sourcing goods and services & obtaining quotes, ensuring that specification, quality, budgetary cost, and delivery quoted match the requirement from the requestor.
  • Ensuring timely receipt of hire and service purchase orders to aid invoice processing.
  • Support the co-ordination of rental and service requirements with suppliers for the operational support activity and where applicable communicating delivery status to the requestor.
  • Assist the Accounts Department with invoice queries requiring clarification.
  • To negotiate and place purchase orders, ensuring schedule reporting and delivery promises are maintained by vendors with information communicated to the relevant business area and any other stakeholders.
  • To expedite orders in accordance with Purchase Order requirements.
  • Working with suppliers to maintain or improve the requested lead time, updating the ERP system and requestor accordingly.
  • Assisting with performing stock movements on Navision.
  • Ensuring items are located & stored safely in the correct locations.
  • Providing support to the stores team during cycle and full stock counts
  • Helping to ensure the stores area is kept in a safe and tidy manner.
Requirements
  • A minimum of five National 5 grades/GCSEs (or equivalent)
  • Good Microsoft skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of business administration
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and amend workload priorities in a regularly changing environment
  • Accountable and responsible
  • Self-motivated and can-do attitude
  • Ability to plan, organise and deliver
