We are seeking to recruit an efficient and effective specialty administrator who has a passion for high quality customer care to work within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at Musgrove Park Hospital (MPH).You will provide a complete administration service to the speciality team, including the Administrative Team Leader, Consultants, Associate Specialists, and other allied health professionals. We are looking for someone who can use their own initiative, work well with other people and be able to approach others for support. The right candidate will have excellent IT and typing skills, and work within the Trust values and core standards to always maintain an excellent patient experience.If you think that you are the right person for the job, we would love to hear from you.Main duties of the jobDeal with day-to-day correspondence, initiating appropriate responses to provide patients, staff and other parties with required information in a friendly and professional manner.Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary.Liaise with appropriate personnel in the team to gather and co-ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner.Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by clinical staff, by use of audio or copy typing. Produce copies for appropriate agencies, filing copies in correct sequence, ensuring follow-up arrangements are in place, listing outstanding investigations on the hospital database system.Prioritise own work efficiently and effectively, highlighting any issues to the Administrative Team Leader.Participate in team and Trust meetings as requested.About usAt Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, we're committed to supporting our employees with a range of benefits designed to enhance your professional and personal life.
