Salary: £89–£108 per day (PAYE)Fluent in BSL and passionate about inclusive communication?We’re working with a specialist SEND school in the Sunderland area that supports pupils with hearing impairments and complex communication needs. They’re on the lookout for a BSL-trained Teaching Assistant to provide hands-on support to learners across the Primary and/or Secondary phases.This is a school where every pupil is respected, supported, and encouraged to thrive-where communication isn’t a barrier, it’s a bridge.What you’ll be doing:Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils using British Sign LanguageWorking 1:1 and in small groups to build confidence, understanding, and engagementAssisting with classroom learning, emotional regulation, and daily routinesCollaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent, meaningful supportYou’ll need:BSL Level 2 or higher (Level 3+ preferred)Experience supporting children with SEND and/or hearing impairmentsA calm, friendly approach and a passion for inclusive learningConfidence using visual, tactile, and signing communication strategiesWith Protocol Education, you get:Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella companies or admin fees)FREE CPD including Thrive, de-escalation, and specialist SEND trainingLocal placements and a supportive consultant who gets SENDThe chance to make a difference where it’s most neededApply today and help create a learning space where every child feels seen, heard, and understood.
