- Managing day-to-day finance operations, including overseeing Purchase Ledger and supplier payments.
- Delivering the monthly close process, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Running monthly payroll across multiple schemes, ensuring compliance with HMRC and pension regulations.
- Supporting pension scheme administration and liaising with providers.
- Preparing management accounts, profit and loss reports, variance analysis, and other month-end reporting.
- Supervising and developing an Accounts Assistant to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Providing cover for the Financial Controller when required and responding to audit requests.
- Relevant experience in a similar accounting role.
- A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, ICAS) or be working towards one.
- Strong knowledge of payroll, pensions, and accounting practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- High levels of accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting systems.
- Strong communication skills and a discreet, professional approach.
