
UK EHS Manager

- Act as the EHS expert, develop and lead EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance and governance, incident prevention for the Cambridge site.
- Lead and manage the UK EHS team, fostering a continuous improvement culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Management and maintenance of the Environment and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation including ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into operational planning and decision-making.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective business continuity management system for the Cambridge site.
- Education – NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Years of Functional Experience - 10+ years of practical experience with a variety of EHS activities supporting a laboratory-based company.
- Have strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards and experience with EHS management systems.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to talk comfortably and knowledgeably with a wide range of stakeholder, including senior management, business partners and audit functions.
- Organisation and planning: Good decision making skills, strong team working, collaborative, proactive planning, training and organisational skills
- Ability to travel – no more than approx. 10% time travelling internationally, working with the Global EHS Team across Abcam site locations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience working within the life science sector and familiar with a laboratory environment
