We’re hiring a Data Protection Specialist to join our team in Bradford or London King’s Cross. This is a permanent, hybrid role.As the Data Protection Specialist at Liberty Blume, you will be responsible for helping build and maintain the data protection governance framework within the organisation and across our services. Acting as a subject matter expert for the business, your role is crucial in ensuring that our data protection practices are robust, compliant, and effectively integrated into business operations to bring value for Liberty Blume.What will you be doing?
  • Shape and maintain data protection policies and frameworks
  • Lead Privacy by Design initiatives, including risk assessments, stakeholder engagement, and (D)PIAs using OneTrust
  • Manage third-party privacy risks and support supplier onboarding/offboarding
  • Maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA)
  • Conduct AI privacy assessments and support governance controls
  • Deliver training and raise awareness across the organisation
  • Provide practical guidance on data protection topics (e.g. e-marketing, supplier due diligence)
  • Advise on privacy matters with internal teams, vendors, and clients
  • Collaborate in cross-functional and international forums
We tend to look for people with:Essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Data protection certification (e.g. IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, AIGP)
  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR, PECR, and the ePrivacy Directive
  • Proven experience in a data protection role
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement data protection governance frameworks
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with risk frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, ISO 31000)
  • Understanding of global privacy laws (e.g. US, LatAm, Asia)
  • Experience using OneTrust or similar privacy tools
  • Strong collaboration, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly understand complex technologies and related policy issues
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Awareness of the commercial, legal, and political context of the organisation
