The distribution arm is growing at pace, and we are increasing our manufacturing capabilities to accommodate the demands.Automation Engineer - Responsibilities of the RoleYou will be responsible for working in a clean automated environment completing engineering maintenance duties across two locations whilst following health and safety regulations.As a key member of the Maintenance team, you will ensure the smooth operation of the facility, complete reactive and planned maintenance work, fault finding duties and fulfil all aspects of the role following working procedures and safe systems of work where appropriate..0n a daily basis, this role is to follow the procedures necessary to assist in all aspects of maintenance relating to automated machinery such as conveyors, sorters, sensors and motors.Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain all materials handling equipment and ensure an efficient operation of the Building Management System
  • Mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration and system testing.
  • Look to continuously improve all aspects of new and old equipment, be health and safety conscience.
  • Work against timeframes to complete reactive repairs.
  • Service and repair current installed products and demonstrate hands on ownership of issues to achieve a fast resolution.
  • Carry out all PPM (Planned and Preventative Maintenance) in line with set schedules for the system and sub-systems.
  • Report maintenance activities using the CMMS/WMS
  • Able to interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with 415V motor controls, as well as have experience with single and 3 phase electrics.
  • Carry out Electrical inspections to 18th Edition standard.
  • Ensure plant and equipment remain clean and to ensure the maintenance stores and workshop areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Assist in the completion and review of risk assessments for the department.
  • Undertake regular health & safety inspections with the Site Management Team
  • Manage capital projects and work within budget.
  • Ensure the facilities are working to minimum production downtime and maximum equipment reliability.
Competencies
  • Excellent communication skill
  • Good analytical skills and sound judgement.
  • Working knowledge of material handling equipment.
  • An appreciation of project management
  • knowledge of Engineering drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Appreciation of planned preventative maintenance schedules.
Qualifications/Experience
  • NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in an Electro-Mechanical Engineering discipline or similar
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in engineering (electrical or mechanical)
  • Electrical 17th or 18th Ed.
  • Experience of working within a similar role (FMCG, Food Manufacturing, Waste to recycling, Baggage Handling, Automated warehousing)
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Conveyor/MHE experience
  • Pharmaceutical distribution experience
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • A proven ability to take ownership of tasks and situations.
  • Displays an enthusiastic approach to the role.
