WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time in the office.About this opportunityWe're looking for a Performance Director to lead our Executive Reporting & Insight (ER&I) team within the Commercial Performance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the senior leadership team and play a key role in shaping how Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) tells its performance story.You’ll lead a dedicated team of Exec Performance Managers and Data Analysts, helping to deliver clear, timely, and meaningful insight that supports decision-making at the highest levels of the Group. Your work will directly influence how BCB’s progress is understood and communicated - and you’ll help build future-ready capabilities across data, insight, and partner engagement.Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the delivery of BCB’s executive performance reporting, including Balanced Scorecard metrics, Board submissions, and strategic commitments.
- Develop a team of Executive Performance Managers and Data Analysts, ensuring alignment to strategic goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and positioning the team as a trusted source of executive-level performance intelligence.
- Build and maintain a strong collaborator network across BCB, CP&E, and Group functions to ensure a deep understanding of performance drivers, headwinds, and tailwinds.
- Support the design and implementation of performance frameworks, including the integration of new technologies and methodologies to improve productivity and customer outcomes.
- Uphold a strong risk and control culture, ensuring compliance with Group policies and timely resolution of audit actions.
- Strategic Thinking with Commercial Awareness: You understand the BCB environment and can connect performance insight to strategic priorities like customer growth, productivity, and cost optimisation.
- Insight-Led Decision Making: You’re confident using data to shape decisions, not just report on them. You ask the right questions helping senior leaders understand the ‘why’ behind the numbers and where to act.
- Technology Focus: Understanding of how BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel) help to drive automation, consistency, and innovation in reporting. You’ll be comfortable finding opportunities to enhance insight delivery through new technologies or frameworks.
