In line with its strategic growth plans, this prestigious Chartered Insurance Broker seeks an experienced Property Account Handler to service an enviable portfolio of clients. Our client is a long-standing insurance brokerage which is fiercely committed to remaining fully independent, despite regular approaches from the consolidators. It is proud to be one of the largest independent brokers in the UK, with premium income well in excess of £150 million, and it is continuing to experience year on year, double-digit growth. The company takes great pride in its high level of client service, which has resulted in it insuring many of the UK's most coveted property portfolios. Just as importantly, knowing that its staff are its most important asset, it is well-known as a very caring employer, which is reflected in the fact that many of its staff have worked in the business for well over 20 years.A need has arisen for additional support within the specialist Property team. Based in Leadenhall Street, in the heart of the City of London, you will work closely with an Account Director, servicing the requirements of prestigious Real Estate and Commercial Property clients, many of which are connected to Real Estate Investment Trusts and Family Offices. The majority of the accounts are located in the London area and typically have premiums ranging between £100K - £600K. You'll enjoy a varied role, which will include, but not be limited to, handling renewals, putting together submissions for insurers, processing mid-term amendments, and dealing with a wide variety of client enquiries. As the firm is a big believer that, “it's all about relationships”, you'll also be encouraged to build strong partnerships with your clients and insurers, and you'll be very welcome to attend face to face visits if this is something that you enjoy. Refreshingly, this is a company where you can make a real difference - our client tells us, “we are a big believer in supporting our employees' suggestions, and if they have great ideas that makes sense, then we run with them.”It's essential that you have strong experience within Commercial Property or Real Estate broking, even if this has been just part of a more general commercial portfolio. Equally, you must be confident in your ability to build rapport with sophisticated insurance buyers and understand the nuances of their insurance arrangements. You must be highly numerate, au fait with all common IT packages, and have excellent communication skills (both written verbal). This broker is well-known for being one of the best payers in the market, and the CEO is certainly no penny pincher - whilst we anticipate the salary to be somewhere in the region of £40,000 - £60,000, if someone can justify a higher package then they are certainly 'all ears'. You will receive a comprehensive benefits package and, as you would expect from a Chartered Broker, fully-funded support towards CII qualifications and professional memberships. This is very much an expanding broker that is known for promoting from within, and so you will benefit from a myriad of opportunities for professional development and career advancement. Our client is flexible on hours and is happy to accommodate someone on either a full or part-time basis (minimum 4 days). Also, they operate a hybrid-working arrangement, allowing you to work 2 days from home, should you so wish.Aston Charles - a personalised service from industry expertsGeneral Insurance and Financial Services Recruitment
