We are a friendly and supportive team based within a medium and low secure forensic environment.The post holder will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including assessment and consultation under the support and supervision of a Principal Occupational Therapist. Candidates need to have good knowledge and skills, understand professional models, and know how to apply and interpret standardised tools in a range of settings. The Occupational Therapy service in the Trust is particularly keen to support and develop all clinicians in the use of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO), Sensory Integration (SI), Occupational Formulation (OF) and other evidence-based approaches with good outcomes in the forensic field.As a Specialist Occupational Therapist you will have has access to professional supervision and support from the Principal OT and other AHP Leads in the Trust. All OT's within the forensic services are part of a Professional Network and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Group.Main duties of the job
To be accountable in own area of clinical responsibility, ensuring the delivery of evidence based clinical interventions and practice for a specialist caseload.
To continue to demonstrate specialist clinical skills in practice and provide support, training, and advice re the delivery of care in partnership with patients, relatives, staff, managers, and externally with other agencies.
To provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, formulation, and treatment interventions within a low and medium secure setting.
To facilitate a range of interventions including therapeutic group work.
Provide a specialist occupational perspective within multidisciplinary team meetings.
To provide clinical supervision to occupational therapy staff.
Represent the secure service therapies team within divisional forums.
