Hours: Full-TimeAbout the RoleMarks Sattin are delighted to be working alongside a Global Organisation who are on the hunt to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Admin to join the business on a 6 Months FTC basis.Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments to suppliers.
  • Ensure accurate records, including in the company accounting systems and supplier statements.
  • Provide the Accounts Payable manager with accurate, comprehensive and timely purchase ledger information
  • Preparation of weekly purchase ledger report to agreed timetable in advance of internal management meeting.
  • Preparation of weekly report of projected payments to agreed timetable for inclusion in the cash flow forecast.
  • Monitoring and controlling discounts for prompt payment for certain suppliers.
  • Collating invoices for the weekly and month end processing run, reconciling suppliers statements, handling all queries and ascertaining reasons for invoices not authorised for payment.
  • Allocating cheque payments to Purchase Ledger Accounts.
  • Completing month end purchase ledger control account reconciliations for review by the Accounts payable manager.
  • Ensuring signatures are gained by approving internal managers on a timely basis to enable payments to be made on time to suppliers.
  • Ensure the relevant evidence is retained to release payments.
  • Building relationships with internal colleagues from other departments so that payments can be made promptly.
  • Build relationships with supplier company counterparts to foster a good understanding and information flow.
Key Skills
  • AP experience is essential. Exposure to detailed accounting, data and reconciliations is key to the role.
  • Self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on data management. Problem solving and the ability to handle detailed accounting work.
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and has a track record of improving detailed results.
  • Well-presented and business like.
  • Able to get on with others and be a team player.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes/techniques desirable.
  • Advanced spreadsheet use essential.
