An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Charge Nurse to manage and lead the nursing team within Medical High Dependency which is situated within the Acute Medicine Unit.Our Acute Medicine Unit has a 35 bed Acute Assessment Unit, 6 bed Medical High Dependency and an Ambulatory Emergency Care facility.The SCN will provide Clinical leadership to the nursing team to ensure safe and effective clinical practice, enhance the patient's experience of care and manage and develop the performance of the team.Candidates must have a substantial post registration experience within a Critical Care setting.We are looking for a motivated, caring and compassionate nurse who is able to work well under pressure and should be able to work well as part of a large and diverse multidisciplinary teamCandidates should have excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit coupled with a sense of humour.On a daily basis you will be responsible for ensuring that you lead your team promoting & providing a high quality care and developing a positive ward culture.You will ensure appropriate learning opportunities are met for all staff, encouraging best practice to deliver a high quality of patient care at all times, supervising qualified & unqualified staff members.Hours of work are to meet the needs of the service, currently 0800-1600 Monday to Friday.NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
