A 2 form entry Primary School in the BS36 area of South Gloucestershire are currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1 to 1 basis with a KS2 pupil.This school is a close-knit, caring but highly ambitious school that promotes and secures high standards of teaching and learning throughout to allow all children access to learning experiences at their own pace.The RoleAs a member of the support staff at this Primary School, you will be expected to build a strong relationship with the pupil and their family to understand home life and school life. Anything can impact a pupil’s behaviour and motivation at school.The Head Teacher is looking to appoint a flexible and dedicated professional with classroom experience. Someone who can bring a caring and nurturing feel to the classroom environment. You must be able to build a relationship where the pupil can trust you and feel safe in your presence.You will be expected to:
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to assess development.
  • Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.
  • Have previous experience or understanding of ASD needs.
  • Create a stimulating and purposeful environment.
  • Be patient, caring and creative.
  • Be flexible and adapt activities based on the pupils' needs and emotional feelings.
  • Assess and communicate the individuals’ successes and developments.
