- previous experience delivering a consultancy service within a commercial environment
- the ability to produce technical reports to a high standard and degree of professionalism
- experience working with planners, architects, engineers and contractors
- the ability to work within a team of professionals providing holistic tree and landscape advice
- the ability to work closely and communicate with other professionals internally and externally
- commercial awareness and a business acumen to generate new business, develop existing clients and networks, and manage commercial clients and projects from start to finish
- the ability to meet and exceed financial targets.
- thorough working knowledge of the planning system, associated legislation and policy
- sound knowledge of tree and fungal identification
- the ability to use tomography and / or resistance micro-drill for advanced tree assessments
- a working knowledge of ancient and veteran trees
- robust understanding of health and safety legislation and guidance for trees and tree management
- a relevant degree or masters qualification - ecological / environmental
- supplementary professional membership(s) and vocational training certification
- excellent IT skills and attention to detail (essential)
- experience with AutoCAD (desirable)
