- Manage full lifecycle of electrical substation projects from initiation to closeout.
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Lead cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, designers, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, NEC/NFPA codes, and health & safety standards.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Liaise with internal departments (Design, Procurement, Operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., SONI, customers).
- Monitor project risks, costs, and performance, providing regular reports and forecasts.
- Maintain high standards of on-site safety and quality assurance.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical project management, ideally within substations or utility infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, protection, and metering.
- Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Familiarity with NEC4 contracts and commercial management software (e.g., CEMAR).
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Accredited Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (IET or equivalent).
- Experience with 33kV-132kV substation projects.
- Knowledge of online project collaboration tools and CAD software.
