
Investigations Officer

- Manage a mixed caseload, including triage, formal investigation, and progression to final Fitness to Practise Committee hearings
- Conduct initial and ongoing case assessments, including risk assessments, interim order applications, and monitoring conditions of practice
- Set and agree case plans with Legal teams, identifying sources of information, witnesses, and barriers to investigations
- Produce high-quality written reports and provide clear verbal updates to colleagues, managers, case examiners, and committees
- Coordinate and quality assure the preparation of case materials for experts, committees, and hearings, ensuring deadlines and legal requirements are met
- Liaise with internal and external parties, including lawyers, registrants, complainants, witnesses, and experts, to ensure cases progress efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and monitoring systems in line with retention policies and performance standards
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of fitness to practise processes, policies, and procedures
- Experience in investigations or complaint handling, ideally in legal, regulatory, or healthcare settings
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex processes clearly
- Sound judgement and decision-making, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
