
Applications Engineer - Combustion Rental and Rapid Response

- As our newly appointed Applications Engineer with our Combustion Rental and Rapid Response team, you will focus on developing customer enquiries, producing technical and commercial proposals, and attending site meetings to define equipment scope and client requirements. You will collaborate closely with our European offices, external teams, and our headquarters in the USA to meet targets and drive business growth.
- Technical Process Design: Perform process design to select appropriate combustion equipment, ensuring alignment with client needs and requirements.
- Proposal Development: Prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals for rental equipment and rapid response flare projects, ensuring they meet client specifications.
- Project Management: Understand scheduling and scope of work requirements to prepare effective turnover information and support project progression.
- Client Engagement: Follow up on leads, promote the Rentals business across the EMEA region, and engage with customers through technical and commercial meetings.
- Documentation: Write, edit, and prepare formal quotations, and follow up with customers on all written and verbal correspondence, from pre-order to post-order stages.
- On-site Support: Travel to customer sites in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, often at short notice, to support marketing efforts and provide technical/commercial clarification.
- Engineering expertise: Background in the process or oil and gas industry, with a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Industry experience: Experience in a combustion engineering, process or chemical-related position, or a combination of education and hands-on experience.
- Technical proficiency: Ability to read engineering drawings and strong technical knowledge of the industry.
- Software skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and ideally some familiarity with Sage accounting software.
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with confident presentation abilities.
- Problem-solving & initiative: Resourceful, well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to make autonomous decisions.
- Team player: Works effectively within a team, while being confident and assertive under pressure.
- Physical requirements: Comfortable working at heights and willing to travel worldwide to meet business needs.
- Full valid UK driving licence required.
- Must live within 1-hour commutable distance to our Rutland Office, PE9 4AQ.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
