You will take charge of your section, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating seasonal, balanced menus that cater to a diverse range of dietary requirements.Our services at the College includes core feeding seven days per week, facilities management services and extensive hospitality catering, Wellington's vast 400 acre estate requires a large, flexible and multi-skilled Sodexo team. The College also boast of a beautiful V&A café contemporary location with the flexibility of an all-day retail café including the core school menu alongside a range of healthy, sustainable snacks and an impressive array of coffees and other hot and cold drinks. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.What You'll Do:Assist in all aspects of the preparation of daily food production and presentation of food to the notified standard.To prepare all food with due care and attention, particularly in regards to customers' special dietary requirements: for example, dairy or wheat allergiesAssist with the replenishment of food to ensure service periods do not stop.Comply with statutory and company requirements.Assist with the hygienic cleaning of kitchen to comply with all Health and Safety regulations.Assist with the implementation of cleaning schedules to agreed standards.Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues.Promote a good company image to customers and guests by using positive customer service practices.To assist with the set up and presentation and execution of all catering functions.To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department's activities Assisting the Executive Head Chef and Senior Sous Chefs with paperwork including stock ordering and contribute ideas to future menus.To assist, as required, at special functions, some of which may occur outside normal working hours, for which you will be paid overtime.What You Bring:Essential:Experience cooking on a large scale (100-1300 students)Experience following recipes in a professional kitchenDemonstrate experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a companyAble to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards.Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions.Basic Food Hygiene and Health and Safety CertificatesDesirable:Proven experience of managing client relationshipsProven track record of leading, managing and developing a team.Working knowledge of PastryWhat We Offer:A dynamic and supportive work environmentCompetitive salary and benefitsFull training and protective uniform providedNo unsociable hours and public holidays off-including Christmas!Unlimited access to mental health and wellbeing supportEmployee Assistance Programme for legal, financial, and personal supportDiscounts, cashback schemes, and financial benefitsCareer progression, learning opportunities, and apprenticeshipsCycle to Work Scheme and volunteering opportunitiesAt Sodexo, we believe everyone deserves a place to belong.
