We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to work within a SEND school setting in Shirehampton.The desired Behaviour Support Worker will have;Experience of working with school aged childrenExperience of working with pupils with SENDA passion for the progress of school pupilsAbout the roleThis Behaviour Support Worker role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as ASD, PMLD, MLD and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be required to work within group and 1:1 setting with a range of ages and levels of learning.Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils with this, as well as making sure they are not displaying any triggers or any signs of unease.Our main aim is to offer the best possible support to pupils. In order to be successful for this role a nurturing, patient and empathetic attitude will be key.About the schoolBased in the Shirehampton area and is easily accessible via public transport. There is also ample car parking. We are continually seeking quality caring staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full time or even supply support staff members.This school are looking to appoint a passionate Behaviour Support Worker to work in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis with Special Educational Needs Children.This part time Behaviour Support Worker is potentially long term and permanent for the right candidate.RequirementsTo be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Worker - Shirehampton you will:
  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service
  • Have previous experience of working with children or young people; ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 2 years.
  • We must be able to obtain valid references from these roles.
  • A genuine passion and care for supporting children with mental health and challenging behaviour.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Recent experience obtained within the last 2 years, of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting. We must be able to obtain references from these roles.
