
Lead QC Analyst

- To carry out practical operations duties within QC, remaining aligned with company processes, policies and systems (e.g. Site Security, EMS, QMS, JDE).
- Being responsible for productivity within their department and recording departmental metrics through the correct reporting streams, ensuring the PCB and Tier boards are updated (daily, weekly, monthly), reporting departmental weekly updates at the Bridge meetings as required. Ensuring any departmental issues are raised to Area Team Leader.
- To proactively champion safety in their department(s), addressing issues raised on Intelex and ensuring that safe working practices are always followed.
- To review SOP’s and ensure they match working practices, providing support to colleagues to ensure SOPs are accurately followed and when questions arise. To support the team by updating SOP’S and process changes.
- Perform EHS, Quality and 5S audits across all areas of the site, finding opportunities for improvement.
- To be a champion of Continuous Improvement across the whole site, (5S, 8 step methodology, Gemba walks, visual management, scientific thinking) and highlighting issues that hinder the most efficient and effective performance of the operations.
- To deputise for the Team Leader as required.
- Analyse materials using validated analytical techniques with high accuracy and precision.
- Perform duties following quality system requirements, associated procedures, and working instructions.
- Address issues and take vital actions to prevent delays in material approval.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work and observations as per the quality system.
- Update the Laboratory Data Management System to ensure timely release of quarantined materials.
- Maintain instruments in good order, report defects, and perform repairs when necessary.
- Write procedures and conduct regular assessments.
- Conduct departmental safety audits on a rota basis.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment, adhering to 5S housekeeping principles.
- Handle chemicals safely and report any unsafe procedures, practices, or incidents and ensure proper disposal of waste materials in line with agreed protocols.
- Update the status of each raw material in the electronic database.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to make sound decisions.
- Excellent multitasking skills.
- Eagerness to learn and acquire new knowledge.
- Experience of working in a laboratory environment.
- Mentoring experience in a Quality role.
- Degree in a Scientific discipline.
