
Associate Consultant - Permitting and Compliance

- Providing advice on and managing the preparation of applications for environmental permits, licenses and approvals from regulatory agencies - including new applications and variations to and surrender of existing permits.
- Advising on and managing the preparation of environmental management system documents and supporting management plans required by our Clients environmental permits.
- Overseeing permit monitoring and compliance reporting to the UK Regulators.
- Discharging and/or overseeing pre-operational conditions and permit improvement condition items.
- Responding to and dealing with technical queries on projects as required and in a professional and timely manner.
- Applying business development skills to delivering the business plan and securing new work.
- Building strong Client relationships to maintain existing client base and develop new Clients.
- Ensuring quality control of the output of projects in accordance with the approved QA system.
- Organising junior staff and own workloads to deliver high quality work to agreed deadlines.
- Supporting junior staff development.
- Substantial experience in preparing permit applications, variations and surrender applications across a wide range of sectors.
- Experience in developing environmental management systems and management plans required for permitted facilities - fire prevention plans, accident management plans, dust management plans, odour management plans
- A good understanding of UK regulators permitting guidance and requirements.
- Strong project management skills including financial project management and a proven ability to bring work in on budget.
- Confident at accurately scoping new work and producing costed proposals.
- Ability and confidence to build and maintain working relationships with clients, external bodies and internal teams.
- Ability to successfully deliver business development and secure new work and clients.
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Line management experience
- A degree in science, engineering or environmental science.
- Valid UK driving licence.
