Teaching Assistant – Pupil Referral UnitLocation: Doncaster, UKDaily Rate: £80 – £110 per dayRole to start immediately with opportunities for long term contracts.This school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support some of the most vulnerable and vibrant children in and around Doncaster. Many of these children have unsettled home lives and mental health difficulties. This school is committed to promoting the welfare and safety of children and vulnerable adults. It’s an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and friendly team that are growing across the city.Within this Teaching Assistant role within the Pupil Referral Unit, you will be responsible for supporting children that for many reasons, struggle with mainstream education. All of these children have been permanently excluded, with some being reintegrated back into mainstream. Many of the children join this school with unmet Special Educational Needs and are supported with referrals.About You: You are an ambitious & resilient individual that relishes a challenge and are able to form trusting relationships with children.Teaching Assistant – Pupil Referral Unit Job Description:
  • · To support learning over all phases of the school, ages 5 to 16
  • · To provide supervision and activities at social times
  • · To support young people
  • · To be a visible and supportive presence in school
  • · To liaise with home, school and external agencies to support young people in centre
  • Support induction and reintegration of young people to and from the school
Teaching Assistant – Pupil Referral Unit Requirements:

  • · The ability to engage with young people to support with learning & social development
  • · Experience in working with young people who have social, emotional & behavioural difficulties
  • · Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Driving Licence
