A full-time Enhanced practice sonographer vacancy has opened to join our ultrasound services across West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.This role will be cross-site, covering St Albans City Hospital & Hemel Hempstead Hospital & Watford General Hospital.The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing towards the efficient service delivery of ultrasound services.Main duties of the jobThe duties and responsibilities of the post holder include:
  • To contribute to the operational duties of the ultrasound departments services across West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust. Including maternity, general, inpatients and acute referrals.
  • To be an effective member of the Ultrasound team, promoting the trust values through our workforce.
  • Provide a high standard of Sonographer/ultrasound services to radiologists and patients.
  • Complete ultrasound examinations to a high standard.
  • Supervision of junior staff, international recruits and students through induction and training programmes.

  • HCPC registered.

Knowledge:Essential
  • Complex knowledge of pathologies.
  • Detailed knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Actively participates in CPD relevant to professional needs.
Experience:Essential
  • Proficient NHS ultrasound experience in Obstetrics, gynaecology or general medical ultrasound.
  • Previously worked at Practitioner Sonographer level.
Desirable
  • Sub-specialism skills and competencies.
