- Consulting with clients on their business challenges and data assets, recommending how primary research, data enhancements, and analytics can be utilised to drive business growth.
- Mixture of conducting and managing analytical projects, consulting with clients on the best approach to segmentation, trade-off, predictive models and multiple source briefs.
- New business conversations with clients to take them through our analytics offer
- Writing analytical proposals / primary research proposals requiring analytics - ability to think creatively about designing analysis & research programmes that answer the client’s needs in innovative ways
- With the support of colleagues, able to consult on, advise on, and build advanced segmentations – including survey segmentations, database segmentations and hybrid segmentations incorporating multiple data sources
- Use Bonamy Finch best practice on segmentation (from over 2,000 segmentations) to create consistently high quality segmentations that enable client identify “where to play” and “how to win”
- Create segmentation golden questions – using multinomial logistic regression and linear discriminant analysis
- Understand / learn the process of building more advanced classification models to predict segments using a range of data science approaches, (e.g., Random Forests, XGBoost) on a variety of data sets (e.g. transactional, behavioural databases, marketing, sales, market research)
- Would be beneficial to have a strong working knowledge of analytical techniques within primary research (or be ready to learn these), such as Conjoint analysis, Machine Learning (e.g. Random Forests & SVM), Statistical techniques (e.g. Logistic & Linear Regression), along with wider analytical approaches such as Time Series and Basket Analysis, and analytics with unstructured data.
- A good grounding in wider data science techniques and analysis of a variety of different data sets will be an advantage
- Ability to piece stories together to deliver insights rather than just analytical models e.g., combine multiple data sources and analysis to project findings into real-world, business ready metrics
- Working knowledge of natural language processing, text analytics, would be beneficial
- Good working knowledge of R and/or python
- Excellent consultation skills with a range of stakeholders
- Knowledge of segmentation techniques such as k-means, latent class, hierarchical and factor analysis
- Appreciation and appetite to work across a variety of data - especially market research and customer databases
- Knowledge of statistics and applied machine learning
- Experience using statistical linear models i.e. linear regression for prediction
- Classification methods to predict segments onto databases / other research data i.e. survey i.e. MLR, XGBoost, Discriminant analysis
- Conjoint analysis experience / other pricing methods using survey data
- Knowledge of GDPR / data compliance
- Experience / Understanding of Git and version control
- Working with 3rd party data vendors
- Prior use of APIs
- Some knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) libraries
- 25 days holiday plus UK bank holidays (our office also shuts between Christmas and New Year)
