Salary: £90 – £120 per day (Depending on Hours and Experience)To apply, you must show proof of right to work in the UK.About the roleConnex Education is working with The Saint Ralph Sherwin Trust in Derby and are recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work in their Secondary schools. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or those with educational experience looking to start their teaching career.These roles will commence in September 2025 for both day to day and longer-term assignments.As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement. You will work flexibly within our secondary schools, providing essential support to ensure minimal disruption to students’ education.Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes during planned and unplanned teacher absences
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities set by subject teachers
- Maintain classroom discipline and implement the school’s behaviour management policies
- Support student learning by providing guidance and encouragement
- Ensure the safety and welfare of students at all times
- Build positive relationships with students across different year groups
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
- Have a degree or relevant qualification in education or related field
- Experience working with children in an educational setting (voluntary or paid)
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be passionate about education and child development
- Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
