Job ProfileSenior Control Systems Engineer - Powertrain | PermanentJob PurposeHands-on design and development of the control system aspects of ICE, Battery and HV System projects within the Powertrain department to ensure specified performance criteria and deadlines are met.Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
To carry out the design and development of control systems to satisfy applicable regulations within project constraints of time, cost and quality using Company Procedures and industry standards.
To produce design evidence (design calculations, reference data with source, correspondence, test reports, etc.) and ensure that it is recorded for use in design reviews.
To produce Statements of Work, Interface Agreements and Collaboration Management Plans for outsourced packages of work.
To produce customer documentation to ensure ongoing safe and reliable set up, usage and maintenance of components and systems in service.
To release designs for purchase/manufacture using engineering release procedure.
To present design concepts, design status and associated design evidence to demonstrate robust design solutions to internal teams, suppliers and external clients.
To participate in and undertake work packages associated with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis of software components.
To create and maintain Engineering Guides, Procedures and Standards in the area of control system design and development, to ensure learning is captured in the development of safe, reliable, cost effective, legal and competitive solutions.
To be familiar with and understand Procedures, Standards and Engineering Guides and to apply them to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
To be familiar with and utilise 5C Concerns Process to capture and track engineering concerns to ensure efficient, accurate and robust solutions are implemented in a timely manner.Plan and perform the commissioning and testing of vehicle control systems or other software functions using both in-house and external facilities.To support prototype and pre-production control system software releases to resolve issues prior to start of volume production.Carry out and record the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) necessary to ma
