A well-established regional law firm with a nationally recognised Agricultural Team (Legal 500) is seeking a proactive Agricultural Property Lawyer. This is a flexible role offering the opportunity to work across a broad range of agricultural property matters and contribute to the growth of the team.The Role
The successful candidate will support and develop an existing caseload of agricultural work, including:Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act TenanciesAcquisition and disposal of farms and rural propertyClient and agent liaisonUtility company easements and transfersAdvising the Renewables Team on agricultural property mattersPreparation of auction packsExchange, completion, and post-completion work, including Stamp Duty Land Tax, Companies House, and Land Registry filingsYou will also work in line with the firms Marketing Policy to enhance the reputation of the Agricultural Team and generate new business.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide ongoing service to existing clientsWork with Partners and other Fee Earners to develop new businessDevelop and enhance the Agricultural Team, maximising cross-referrals across offices and practice areasProduce fee income in line with targets and objectivesStay informed of changes in law and practice in your areaMaintain and enhance legal skillsManage financial control of caseload, including billing and collection of monies on accountKeep accurate daily records of time spent on client and internal workPerform fee-earning work accurately and reliably in line with company quality and risk proceduresPerson SpecificationEssentialLegal qualification or relevant experience, with a strong interest in agricultural lawResidential, commercial, or agricultural property experienceExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong planning and organisational skillsAbility to work confidently and independentlyMarketing and business development skillsPresentation and public speaking skillsHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and client focusFlexible approach and willingness to travel between officesDesirableKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and high computer literacyUnderstanding of Solicitors Account Rules and Money Laundering RegulationsExperience with case management systems, such as Visual Files or SOS ConnectAttributesPositive, proactive, and hardworking attitudeStructured and process-driven approachAbility to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlinesProfessional with a sense of humourBenefits
