As an SEMH TA, this role provides the opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and essential social skills.Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans.
- Build trusting relationships to encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and learning.
- Monitor and report on pupils’ progress to teaching and pastoral staff.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
- Experience working with children, ideally within SEMH or additional needs settings.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and observational skills.
- Ability to remain calm and patient when supporting pupils with complex needs.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
