We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team across schools in Newport.This role is ideal for individuals keen to gain hands-on experience in alternative provision settings, working closely with children who face challenges related to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH), ADHD, and anxiety.Your RoleSupporting pupils in both group and one-to-one settings, with a strong focus on emotional regulation and positive behaviourCreating a warm and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, safe, and encouraged to thriveGaining practical experience supporting learners with additional needs including SEMH, ADHD, and anxiety-related difficultiesAssisting in the implementation of strategies that promote personal growth and academic progressBuilding positive, consistent relationships with pupils, colleagues, and familiesEncouraging emotional literacy, communication, and social developmentWhat We’re Looking ForA genuine passion for helping children with additional learning or behavioural needsEmpathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with young peopleA positive and proactive approach, with a commitment to supporting pupils’ individual journeysStrong communication skills and a caring, professional attitudeA clear interest in pursuing a long-term career in SEND or alternative educationAvailability Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 3.30 pmRegistration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register – we’ll support you through the processWhat You’ll ReceiveCompetitive daily pay from £88.92 to £101.92, paid weekly without any hidden deductionsOngo
