- Arrange track access to efficiently support the delivery of maintenance and third-party works, in accordance with planning timescales.
- Produce and maintain the Possession Plan on behalf of the team, manage all access and isolation requests for the team
- Coordinate and schedule track access for maintenance, construction, and other authorised activities
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including contractors and engineers sharing access opportunities created by internal and external works
- Monitor and manage track access requests and permissions, resolving conflicting issues related to track access
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Attend site meetings with contractors, developers, Network Rail, local authorities, and utility companies to advise on safe working procedures while working adjacent to, or on, the Metrolink system
- Liaise with the Operations Planning Department to ensure seamless planning for major events and disruptive closures
- Nightly reporting output to improve visibility of works completed, shift utilisation to support improving productivity and report issues arising
- Review advance race cards and issue permits for urgent works
- Creation and issuing of isolation programmes
- Perform additional safety-critical roles as required
- Champion a “safety first” culture across the Engineering & Access Planning team.
- Salary is £44,000 depending on skills and experience
- This is a permanent role, working full time 37.5 hrs per week

- Previous experience in an Access & Planning environment (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of Metrolink system, Engineering and safety standards
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools used for track access planning
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- An excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders in an environment where there is a conflict of priorities or use of resources
- Able to decipher and organise large amounts of data
- Adapt to new ways of working
- Proof of address.
- Evidence of right to work in the UK.
- References from previous employment or studies from the last 3 years.
