Job Description: Air Export Gateway Operations / Air Export Customer ServiceRole: Air Export Gateway Operations
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
Reporting to: Export Manager
Branch: Heston
Department: ExportsRole & ResponsibilitiesOperational Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of the LHR Export Gateway team, servicing UK EV branches.
  • Plan flight schedules, manage allocations, and make shipment bookings to meet client needs.
  • Build Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and manage airline equipment effectively.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all customs paperwork and shipping documents.
  • Maintain compliance with Aviation Security and company security protocols.
Customer Service:
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Ensure all queries are acted upon promptly and escalate issues when necessary.
Carrier and Service Provider Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships with airlines and service providers.
  • Organise and arrange services with various suppliers, including airlines.
  • Monitor flight capacity and negotiate the best possible rates.
  • Manage carrier cut-offs and ensure distribution/warehouse activities align with export procedures.
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financials for each job, including job costing, invoicing, and daily financial management.
  • Liaise with internal departments such as pricing, sales, and commercial teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Process CASS invoicing and adhere to company financial regulations.
Systems and Compliance:
  • Utilise systems such as Web Cargo, CargoWise, ASM Sequoia, and MS Office Suite as required.
  • Ensure compliance with customs, Health & Safety (H&S), and Aviation Security regulations.
  • Manage month-end compliance tasks, including closing Export MUCRs.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Work with internal teams, including operations, warehouse, ATF planners, and transport teams.
  • Contribute to cross-training initiatives to provide coverage for team members.
  • Continually improve processes and adopt best practices for operational tasks.
Training and Development:
  • Undertake training as required by company policy.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and changes in compliance regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all distribution/warehouse matters are executed in line with export procedures.
  • Escalate unresolved queries to senior staff.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by management to support the efficient operation of the department.
