This is the perfect opportunity for a Psychology graduate who is considering a future career in educational or clinical psychology, SEN teaching, or therapeutic work with children and young people.Key Responsibilities as a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for children with a range of special educational needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH)
- Assist the class teacher and SENCO in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies
- Help create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages emotional and academic growth
- Monitor and track student progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to support holistic development
- A degree in Psychology (or related field)
- A genuine passion for working with children with SEN
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour and learning
- Previous experience working with children or young people (in any setting) is desirable but not essential
