An exciting post has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Endoscopist as Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.You will be competent and JAG accredited at undertaking diagnostic gastroscopies, sigmoidoscopies and colonoscopies independently. Ideally you will have completed your nurse prescriber course. You will work with the MDT and contribute to the development, management and delivery of a high quality general and specialist mixed GI endoscopy service.Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will be allocated up to 4 endoscopy lists a week over a 6 day week as required. This will include a range of duties such as evenings and weekends. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner to carry out endoscopies as well as administer conscious sedation. They will be able to identify abnormal pathology, perform biopsies and act on these accordingly within Trust protocols.They will be a supportive and leading role for the rest of the team and contribute to the development of pathways and protocols to keep up to date with the latest guidance and national standards. The Endoscopist will have the opportunity to develop a sub-specialist interest and be supported by the endoscopy lead.If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.50.
