Job Description:OverviewAt Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), a core division of Fanatics' mission to establish the ultimate end-to-end digital sports platform, we're building a world where every fan's passion is met with cutting-edge experiences. The Engineering Manager role within the OddsFactory team is a cornerstone of this vision. You'll lead a high-impact team of Platform Engineers focused on developing innovative technologies that serve as the foundation for our risk and trading systems.You'll lead a senior team responsible for building foundational capabilities used across every engineering team - from spinning up new services to supporting high-stakes production workloads. Your work will directly impact engineering velocity, system reliability, and delivery consistency across FBG. This team owns the paved paths for building, deploying, observing, and securing services across cloud environments - providing the tools, automation, and standards that enable teams to deliver reliably at scale.Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor your team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Define and execute the team's roadmap, balancing long-term goals with immediate platform needs.
  • Build and maintain internal platform services, CI/CD pipelines, and golden paths for deploying and managing services.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform priorities with business objectives.
  • Communicate technical strategy, roadmaps, and progress clearly to executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to keep our platform modern and competitive.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering leadership, with a strong ability to mentor, grow talent, and inspire technical excellence.
  • 7+ years in technical/engineering roles.
  • Proven experience building and operating developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud-native environments (Azure preferred), infrastructure automation, and container orchestration (Service Fabric or Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation).
  • Understanding of observability (metrics, logging, tracing) and incident management.
  • Experience defining and executing technical strategies and roadmaps.
  • Flexible and collaborative mindset; experience managing remote/distributed teams preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development; C# experience is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science or similar (or equivalent experience).
  • Passion for sports and/or the sports betting industry.
  • Start-up or high-growth environment experience, with a bias toward rapid learning and iteration.
  • Strong team collaboration mindset and passion for working in a supportive, fast-paced environment
