Contract Type: Full-TimeWe are seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Chesham, specialising in behaviour support. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about helping students overcome learning barriers and flourish within a structured, supportive environment.In this role, you will collaborate closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to assist students in managing their behaviour, building emotional resilience, and maintaining engagement in the classroom.About the Role:
  • Offer both in-class and out-of-class support to students exhibiting challenging behaviour
  • Support the development and delivery of strategies that encourage positive behaviour and active engagement
  • Work with individual students or small groups to promote focus, build confidence, and enhance participation
  • Collaborate with school staff to implement and regularly review behaviour support plans
  • Foster positive, trusting relationships with students to aid their emotional and social development
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of behaviour incidents and student progress
The ideal candidate will:
  • Prior experience working with young people in a school or youth-focused environment is highly valued
  • A calm, patient, and confident manner when managing challenging behaviours or situations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team with teaching and support staff
  • Enthusiastic about supporting both the personal growth and academic progress of students
  • Relevant qualifications in education or youth work are advantageous but not mandatory
