Our client is looking for someone to create and maintain technical documentation to help users understand and use products and systems. Work closely with engineers, product teams, and designers to gather information and produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly documents. Use tools like CAD and graphic design software or work with others to include visual elements. The goal is to support customers with easy-to-follow guides and instructions.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure documents are up to date and easy for customers to access; write and update user guides, manuals, and instructions and ensure content meets industry and legal standards.
  • Collaborate across teams to create clear, helpful documentation and add diagrams and visuals to support written content and use videos or animations where helpful.
  • Keep track of deadlines and content updates.
  • Test products to ensure instructions are correct.
  • Use content management tools to organise and publish materials.
  • Help create training materials and e-learning content.
  • Review documents for clarity and accuracy.
  • Choose the best way to present technical information and suggest ways to improve customer understanding and experience.
  • Spot and suggest improvements to processes.
  • Turn complex technical details into simple, clear language and work with multiple teams to check and confirm accuracy.
  • Plan work 3 months ahead with project and engineering teams.
Qualifications & Experience you'll need:
  • A qualification in technical writing, engineering, communications, or similar (e.g. NVQ4, HND, degree).
  • Experience writing for software or hardware products.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile team environment.
  • Background in science or engineering is a plus.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and documentation tools (e.g. FrameMaker, MadCap Flare).
