Delivery Project Manager, Oncology Data Network for DATA-CAN

In October 2019, IQVIA was announced as a key founding partner within DATA-CAN. DATA-CAN is the UK’s National Health Data Research Hub for Cancer; and has the aim to unlock the power of data to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. IQVIA’s Oncology Data Network provides the technology that will enable two of DATA-CAN’s priorities; improving NHS delivery of care and broadening access to clinical trials for NHS patients.

We are recruiting a Delivery Project Manager who will be part of the cross-functional UK team, with the responsibility of deploying our solution across hospitals in order to achieve IQVIA’s commitments to DATA-CAN.

The primary objective of this role would be to ensure the solution is successfully deployed in each contracted site to a high standard and with high customer satisfaction. This role reports to the DATA-CAN Programme Director and will work closely across the team, as well as others across the organisation.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Customer-facing project management of deployment
  • Point of Contact for Trust during deployment across all stakeholders (eg oncologists, IT personnel, hospital management, research services, decision making groups)
  • Maintain and drive continuous communication with hospital
  • Position and deploy project seamlessly as One IQVIA solution, liaising across IQVIA team to deploy the solution, bringing in other people to the project as required
  • Engage across hospital stakeholders (all levels of seniority) confidently around the programme and project status
  • Responsible for projects to be deployed to time
  • Provide routine project updates; clear communication internally within IQVIA team, as well as with the hospital project team
  • Run project update meetings with hospital stakeholders; from Kick-Off through to project sign-off
  • Highlight risks throughout project plan, including creation (and implementation) of mitigation plans, as appropriate
  • Escalate and be on-point to resolve any issues across IQVIA stakeholders - Infoflex, E360, DATA-CAN Tech; working collaboratively with the hospital to overcome challenges
  • Escalate potential delays with enough notice
  • Collaborate with client engagement pre-contract signature to ensure relevant information is gathered, and required stakeholders are engaged
  • Ensures data quality is high, including support with hospital understanding of lower data quality attributes and encouragement to improve
  • Support monitoring of data quality and feedback to site over first 2 quarters of data flow
  • Responsible for documentation and training related to solution
  • Appropriate awareness and compliance with processes around patient data
  • Ensure relevant hospital personnel are appropriately trained on solution (eg analytics dashboard)
  • Ensure solution is successfully deployed with high customer satisfaction
  • Recording progress in appropriate systems (eg, CRM or other tracking tools / reports / internal reviews)
Education, Experience, & Specialised Knowledge Required:
  • Robust and proven project management skills with demonstrated success bringing complex, cross-functional projects to completion (must)
  • Strong demonstrable experience engaging with UK hospital stakeholders within the NHS (must)
  • Strong communication skills (must)
  • Analytically-minded; ability to translate challenges to implications and potential solutions
  • Experience developing and maintaining external relationships
  • Understanding of UK hospital information systems and patient data
  • Appreciation for relevant data privacy legislation including GDPR, as well as UK-specific information governance landscape and requirements
  • Experience in Oncology and research: basic understanding of oncology research methodologies and Real-World Data and their advantages would be beneficial
  • Experience in working within a matrix structure and Cross-functional teams
  • Excited to have an integral role within the initial phase of a programme, feeding into a national government-funded initiative
  • Positive can-do attitude and good team player
