This is a band 5 development post, within the North Cumbria Crisis Team.The successful candidate would be expected to complete a program of learning and development through the first 6-12 months, and once competencies are completed and there is evidence of sustained competency the post is converted to a band 6 position.On completion of the development program, this is a full-time position clinical facing shift patterns across a 7-day provision 365 days a year. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to work flexible shifts patterns that include nights, weekends, and bank holidays.This will be an extremely exciting opportunity for development for any successful candidate; and you will be joining an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated team.The Universal Crisis Team for North Cumbria are in a position to recruit and are therefore looking to recruit motivated and committed individuals.The North Cumbria Crisis Team have Full Time and Part Time Vacancies - based at Carelton Clinic in Carlilse and Lillyhall in Workington.The North Cumbria Crisis Team offers a dynamic and exciting work environment that can be both challenging and rewarding. You would be working within a multi disciplinary team that are motivated in delivering high quality care for patients at home, with an aim to provide an alternative to hopsital admission.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be part of a team working under the crisis model and pathway, offering a 24/7 service as an alternative to hospital admission. The successful candidate must have experience of working with individuals with a variety of mental health needs, and ideally have a track record of clinical experience in working with risk and complexity.You will be supported to develop sound clinical skills in all aspects of triage, assessment, formulation, management of risk and therapeutic interventionsThe successful candidate will be expected to develop skills in all complete all aspects of Crisis work, with a view to be working idependently within a year.   • Professional Nursing qualification e.g.RMN/RNMH/ RNLD/RGN
  • 12 months post registration experience, and completed preceptorship
  • Multi-disciplinary team work.
  • Proven ability to develop therapeutic partnership with service users and carers.
  • Proven ability to be able to communicate interventions to service users.
Desirable
  • Further relevant post qualifying training
  • Previous experience in a community setting.
  • Experience of involving service users/ carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services
Knowledge and ExperienceEssential
  • Knowledge of relevant contemporary professional theories of mental health care and evidence based interventions.
  • Understanding of the statutory issues which impact on service users.

  • Ability to use IT system
  • Comprehensive continuous assessment of skills
  • Risk Assessment skills.
