Job Posting Title: Lead Environment Artist - ILM LondonReq ID: 10130716Job Description:Position SummaryLead Environment Artists oversee the work of an environments team, building photoreal, published CG environments for use across the pipeline. Works closely with Supervisors and Production Teams to define the creative vision, plan the technical approach, implement and deliver the Environments work on a project(s). Also partners with Creative and Technical Departments to create stunning, photoreal environments for a variety of projects both film and episodic.What You’ll Do:Lead an environments team towards the creation of published CG environments that meet required visual and technical standards and are delivered on timeReview the work of your team, giving feedback and approving submissions for dailiesProvide technical support for your team, communicating any software issues to the developersPerform layout and set dressing of environments using 3D assetsCreate assets including modelling, texturing, lookdev, publishingWork closely with other departments to ensure published environments function as required in the pipelineWork with the lighting department to ensure environments render efficiently and without errorsWork with production to establish milestones and targets and then with the team to ensure targets are metAttend bidding sessions with production and provide bids for environment workResponsible for presenting lit and shaded environments for feedback and creative sign-offProvide clear, concise and timely feedback for colleagues and peers in other departmentsWhat We’re Looking For:Proven track record contributing to photorealistic CG landscapesProven track record leading a team, supporting artists technically and creativelyProficiency with procedural set dressing and scattering systems, including LayoutStrong understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, lighting, shade, composition depth of field, proportion, etcCollaborative, team-player attitude: open and receptive to new ideas, constructive criticism, direction and changesExcellent communication and time keeping skills, attention to targets and deadlinesExperience with HoudiniExperience with USD and SolarisExperience with RISAs part of your application please submit a demo reel, shot breakdown, or equivalent showcasing your work.
