To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.Fixed term maternity leave - Fixed term/secondment until 13/03/26The North Cancer Alliance supports Cancer improvement activities across the six North of Scotland health boards and three cancer centres.The post-holder will be employed through NHS Tayside, but can operate from anywhere in the North of Scotland boards, NHS Highland, Tayside, Grampian, Orkney, Shetland, Western IslesWe are looking for an Intelligence Analyst to support team efforts in strategic development and planning of cancer services through provision of quality intelligence. You will provide complex intelligence and promote the use of an evidence base for informed strategic planning and decision-makingYou will demonstrate the ability to capture, analyse, interpret and present complex data in a way which enables ease of use and understanding by a range of audiences. It is essential that you also have strong communication and interpersonal skills.This post requires knowledge of information analysis and statistics. You will be required to interrogate a large number of systems, gather a wide variety of data sources together, and communicate complex information to senior clinicians and managers. Experience of Cancer Information in a Health Care environment with knowledge of NHS data definitions, information standards and policies is desirable but not essential.The postholder will strengthen intelligence links with other boards across the North of Scotland aiming to combine health intelligence for the benefit of population health planning in relation to cancer.This role is focused on the development of reporting of Cancer data from across the whole pathway. Based on a regional strategic approach this work will support risk-based action planning across a number of cancer services, developed as part of the National Cancer Quality programme. As part of the wider NHS Scotland North planning group there will likely be involvement in cover of other programmes such as mental health, planned care, diagnostics, etc.The key defining aspects of this post are to:
  • Provide innovative health intelligence across the health system to support cancer
  • Build and strengthen partnership arrangements for intelligence within the North of Scotland
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and clinicians.
  • Develop the intelligence base to support service delivery change
