Job Advert - Personal Advisor (Leaving Care) - Manchester City Council We are currently recruiting for a Personal Advisor (Grade 6) to join Manchester City Council's Leaving Care Service , within Children's & Education Services. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting young people aged 16-25 as they transition into adulthood and independent living. About the Role: As a Personal Advisor, you will manage a caseload of young people (average caseload 30) and provide ongoing advice, support, and practical assistance to help them achieve positive outcomes. You will work closely with social workers, multi-agency partners, and stakeholders to develop and deliver effective pathway plans tailored to individual needs. The role involves: Building positive, supportive relationships with young people. Supporting young people to access education, training, employment, health, and community services. Advising and assisting young people with accommodation and financial management. Promoting independence and reducing vulnerability through proactive planning and intervention. Keeping accurate case records and contributing to statutory pathway plans and assessments. Working flexibly to ensure young people's needs are met. About You: We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of young people and can demonstrate the following: At least 2 years' experience working with young people (desirable). Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectively. Good IT and administrative skills to maintain accurate records. Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures. Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Essential - Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Key Details: Location: Manchester Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am-4pm Contract: 3 months, with potential to extend Caseload: approx. 30 young people You will need to consent to and pass a DBS check.
