Job Coach – Bodmin & Threemilestone (with travel across Cornwall)Hours: 22.5 hrs per week (Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays TERM TIME ONLY 44.6 weeks) with possible optional additional hours on an ad-hoc basis on usual non-working days.Base: Bodmin PL31 1NFFixed term contract to 31/7/2026 in the first instanceSalary: £12.82 per hour (£25,000 FTE) + Essential Car User Allowance (£1353.48 FTE pro rata for part time)A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this roleWho we areUnited Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with special educational needs (SEN) learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.Who we needOur Cornwall Supported Employment service require an enthusiastic and committed individual to support the education of learners on the Post 16 Programme of Study/Supported Internship programme. This programme is for young people 16 – 24 living in Cornwall and who have and Education Healthcare Plan (EHCP) and is funded by the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA)/Cornwall Council/Cornwall Adult Education.Delivery of the programme can be across Cornwall through a mix of education and work-related activity both 1:1 and group work.This post will be based at our Bodmin & Threemilestone locations. Mileage is paid at 0.45p per mile between base and supported work placement.Full driving licence, own car and willingness to travel across Cornwall is essential.Making it Happen – Your roleThe rewarding role of the Job Coach is to support young people in realising their aspirations to participate in work related activities, and facilitate individuals’ progression into paid work, through volunteering, education and training, work experience and other routes.The Job Coach will work flexibly across all key stages, work with individuals on 1:1 basis or very small groups under the direction of the Employability Tutor.The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with confidence and initiative who is comfortable working on a one-to-one basis and sometimes without direct supervision.Working with challenging young people and helping them develop will be key so you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills.You will follow a bespoke timetable and will build positive relationships with the young person to promote interaction and a constructive learning environment.The successful applicant will join a dynamic, enthusiastic team, totally committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in Cornwall.The post holder will need to:The benefitsIn return for your passion and commitment, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
