An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk post on Ward 23 that will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward.This role has a wide variety of administrative tasks that need to be completed. The role is ideal for someone who has willingness to learn new skills, can work in a busy environment. The vacancy is for 27.5hrs/week, and the working hours will be from Monday to Friday 09:00-15:00.A successful candidate will be privy to sensitive patient information and will be expected to maintain confidentially at all times.Main duties of the job
  • To check demographic details are correct on admission and discharge.
  • To arrange transport for patients attending other hospitals/departments.
  • To answer the telephone, taking messages or transferring calls as appropriate.
  • To co-ordinate outpatient appointments with clinic clerk prior to discharge.
  • To prepare any discharged patients paperwork for scanning
  • To provide support to nursing staff for general patient requests
  • Liaise with Informatics regarding electronic equipment
