Axcis is working with a fantastic college in Redbridge, who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to work on a full time and part time basis. The college has a lovely environment and a very supportive management team. Hours: 9:30am - 3:30pm Pay: £13.39 an hour This role will involve supporting students aged 16-21 in both classroom group settings and on a 1:1 basis. Many of the young people you will be working with benefit greatly from having a strong mentor figure to guide them, and the successful candidate will need to provide a calm, steady presence alongside encouragement, boundaries and consistent support. You will also be involved in activities where physical confidence and resilience are important, so being able to act as a positive role model both inside and outside the classroom is key. A good knowledge of special educational needs is essential. You will be working alongside a tutor who will offer continuous support, and you will be expected to follow tailored lesson plans designed to meet the individual needs of the students you support. The ideal candidate will bring a positive 'can-do' attitude, resilience, and the ability to connect with young people who respond best to strong role models. A creative and flexible approach to teaching that builds success through challenge, personalisation and innovation is highly valued in this role.
