Exciting Opportunity: Behaviour MentorAre you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience in managing challenging behaviour and supporting students to reach their full potential? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team as a Behaviour Mentor at an Ofsted good secondary school in Bramhall.Role Overview:As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support and guidance to students who may require additional assistance in managing their behaviour and emotions. Your responsibilities will include:Behaviour Management: Implementing strategies and interventions to support students in managing and regulating their behaviour, both in and out of the classroom environment.Individualised Support: Providing one-to-one mentoring and support sessions for students identified as needing additional behavioural support, helping them to develop self-awareness, resilience, and coping strategies.Conflict Resolution: Assisting students in resolving conflicts and managing challenging situations, promoting positive communication and conflict resolution skills.Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to develop and implement individual behaviour plans and interventions tailored to the specific needs of students.Monitoring and Progress Tracking: Regularly monitoring and tracking the progress of students receiving behaviour support, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.Building Relationships: Building positive and trusting relationships with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment where all students feel valued and respected.Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in a school or educational setting, with a focus on behaviour management and support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience in dealing with challenging behaviour and complex emotional needs.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to supporting students, with the ability to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work collaboratively within a team environment and respond to the changing needs of students and the school.
