As an SEN TA, you will work closely with pupils requiring additional academic and behavioural support, helping them build confidence, independence, and achieve their learning goals.Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN needs.
  • Assist in implementing individualised learning plans in collaboration with class teachers and SENCOs.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable in supporting children with varying needs.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
