Location: Dukinfield – OnsitePosition OverviewThe Engineering Maintenance Fitter is responsible for all onsite engineering and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Chemical or Adhesives industry, or in the repair of fluid dynamics, blending, and batch processing equipment. This role requires proven experience in implementing engineering process improvements, developing preventative/predictive maintenance strategies, and managing breakdown repairs, while ensuring compliance with lean manufacturing practices, process improvement, and health & safety standards.Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsure health and safety remain the top priority in all activities.Maintain and repair plant/machinery, independently or in collaboration with other personnel.Deliver all work to a high, professional standard.Propose and implement solutions for maintenance challenges and process improvements.Maintain planned maintenance systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Proactively organize engineering workload using the maintenance management system.Coordinate maintenance work with plant supervisors to ensure priorities are met.Control and maintain spare stock levels; order replacements as required.Issue and monitor permit-to-work systems for site personnel and contractors.Oversee and ensure safe working practices of contractors onsite.Report daily workload and problems to the Engineering Manager.Maintain good housekeeping and work in compliance with safety standards.Minimum RequirementsRelevant qualification in an Engineering discipline.5+ years of industrial experience.Strong mechanical knowledgeStrong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to perform timely repairs, drive process improvements, and deliver results.Proficiency with PC skills in a Windows environment.Preferred RequirementsKnowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, welding, and turning.Experience in the Chemical/Adhesives industry or with fluid dynamics, blending, and batch processing equipment.Experience implementing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.#LI-CR1#LI-OnsiteH.B.
